Healthy,educated and empowered communities.
To champion community based solution and advocate for the wellfare of women , children and other vulnerable groups across kenya.
The promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 paved way for a two level of Government under a devolved governance system. Formation of the County Government presented opportunity for more people at the local level to be involved, not only in governance, but also in transformational development agenda. These devolved units promote social and economic development and facilitates provision of appropriate services throughout Kenya.
One of the unique results of devolved governance structure was the formation of the office of County First Lady. The spouses of the Governors hold a position of influence and are role models to many women and girls in their Counties. They are not holders of any political office and are therefore in a unique position to be a unifying force in a politically divided country.
The Association was formed in 2014 shortly after the commencement of the County Government system of government following the 2013 general election. The Association was formed out of a desire for the County First Ladies to contribute to the social economic development of their CountiesCFLA's work is guided by the needs, priorities, concerns and aspirations of the communities it serves. The association ensures that communities are actively involved in program planning, implementation, and decision-making. By fostering community ownership and Leadership at the grassroots level, CFLA helps build local capacity and ensure the sustainability and relevance of its programs.
